INTRO

We were aksed to design Verizon's latest streaming experience, Stream TV.
A next-gen Android TV powered streaming platform that could be enjoyed seamlessly. no matter what device you are using.

Our high-level goals for this project were to create a platform for innovation, deeper engagement and integrate the latest technology to make a better experience for the user. Along with that a visual language that would feel part of the Verizon portfolio.

Exposure to new and targeted content for the user was key. We did not want them being frustrated by non-appropriate content being surfaced. With a multitude of different apps surfacing their own content via Stream TV, this meant very varied types of content being shown - the ability to give the user means to tailor what kind of content they see and where was also integral to the experience.

To solve this we allowed the user to be in customise their homepage, if they wanted to. Allowing them to pin rails, or organise the heirachy of content in the space allowed for a more convenient and personalised experience.

Our “recommend viewing” feature brought in data from across each streaming app the user spent time on. Having a larger base of content enabled for our recommendations to be more intelligent and, therefore more useful.
